Play based Maths sessions are an attempt to create connection, promote confidence and introduce Maths to young children in a fun and an enjoyable way.

Through these sessions I plan to support children in building self-esteem and resilience. Specially those who have suffered due to the school system and made to believe, "You are only clever if you know Maths."

Please note, my primary goal is to make trusting relationships with the learners, so they develop a sense of safety around me, next is, building independent learners who are not afraid to explore and research.

First few times they meet me, I would strive to get to know them first.

I ask parents to be patient and not expect children to master maths in few sessions. Children will learn at their own pace and I would be facilitating this.

​

PBM start with a check -in, where we sit in a circle and discuss about how we are feeling generally and about what we are going to learn. This is an important skill where children learn to reflect.

​

I would be repeating and revising what children learnt as we go along as I believe it’s important to retain what they learnt through repetition.

 

I would be providing information on what we are learning every week.
